I had often dreamt about writing a 'tell all' book

I had often dreamt about writing a 'tell all' book when I was giving up wedding photography. The funny stories that happen at weddings, the characters we meet, and how and why we get the photos we do. After a decade of photographing weddings I actually did it!

It took a year to put it together, it became my swansong. It's a funny, easy read, that won a fancypants award at the National NZIPP Iris awards.

After 15 years and 304 weddings in New Zealand and around the world, we’re tapping out of the wedding game, and hanging up our wedding shoes.

We had already been winding down the last few years, passing the baton onto the next energetic generation of wedding photographers - and then lockdowns, traffic lights and covid hit and made it impossible to carry on the way we had been. So we’ve taken it as the push we needed. We are no longer wedding photographers.

In one way I’m happy for a new chapter in our lives, especially having our Summer Saturdays back to plan things with the family, but in another way it’s quite a sad, empty feeling, knowing that y’all are planning epic weddings still and I won’t be there to capture it for you! I’ll miss the genuine moments, making new friends and eating wedding cake.

But this isn’t the end of our photography, no siree. We’re going to continue on with our portraits and headshots, winery, scenic and commercial projects. So please don’t forget about us! I’ve tweaked our website and taken off the wedding information, but I’ve left the blog archives up because I know people still love looking back on them!

I’ll be reviving my socials, so PLEASE help the algorithms by responding to things as they pop up, it’ll make a massive difference. I’ll be back on Facebook too, and I’m going to try my hand at reels, apparently that’s where all the cool kids are hanging these days.

So thank you all so much for being such a big part of our wedding photography career. You’ve laughed with us when we got chased by alpacas, you’ve cheered for us when we won fancy-pants awards, your support helped hold me up when I was sore, tired or sobbing in a corner (true story). I’m so proud of the work we’ve done, but it’s only because of you guys, whether you’re an anonymous fan who hit the ‘like’ button, or our beautiful couples, you’ve made this journey what it was. And it was beautiful. So thank you. Thank you all x

WEDDINGS: Just so y'all know, 2021/2022 Wedding Season is at capacity! November to April is now closed for bookings.

PORTRAITS: I'll be taking on a limited number of family portrait sessions over the pre-Christmas period. I'm not taking bookings quite this far out just yet, but I'll let y'all know when I am (probably in the next month or so). Gotta keep those Mums and Grandmas happy!

His Dad had this old barn moved onto the property a fair while ago. A barn that hosted dances after WW2, community and family events, as well as shearing of course. Now this old barn has a new story to add to it's rich history. Steve + Eve. Beautifully married.
